Run for Recovery

September 11th, 2010

Each year hundreds of people participate in the Utah 5k Run for Recovery. Help kick off Recovery Day, promote awareness and bring people together by running or walking.

Runners must be at Gallivan Plaza between 7:00AM - 7:45AM on September 11th, 2010 in order to register and pick up bib. T-shirts will be given to the first 200 who register on the day of the event, so arrive early.

Due to construction, the Run will start on Gallivan Ave. South of Gallivan Plaza





Purchase Run Spots

SIGN-UP INFO: Sign up fee is $20 before Sept. 10th and $25 on the day of the Run. Single run spots or discount packages for your organizaion or family are available at our Online Donation Center. Alternatively you may mail or hand deliver a printable sign-up form.

HELP THOSE IN RECOVERY: All event proceeds will benefit the Utah Substance Abuse Recovery Alliance in the effort to establish Recovery Community Organizations all across Utah.

DATE: Saturday, September 11th, 2010 South of Gallivan Plaza on Gallivan Ave. (downtown Salt Lake City)

TIME: Registration (pick up bib’s and timing equipment) 7:00AM-7:45AM - Run: 8:00AM to 9:00AM.

LOCATION: Run starts on Gallivan Ave then through Memory Grove and ends back at Gallivan Ave. (Parking available near Gallivan Plaza along the streets)  The entire course is wheelchair accessible. USATF CERTIFIED COURSE

TIMING: Timing will be provided. (Results will be posted to our website)

IN ABSENTIA: If you cannot attend the day of the run you can still register and your t-shirt will be available for pick up at the USARA office at 5397 S. Vine Street Salt Lake City, UT 84107.

Recovery Day Celebration 2010
Every September USARA hosts Recovery Day. Last year over 2000 people attended the event held at the Gallivan Center in Salt Lake City. Sixty‐five organizations, including counseling and treatment centers, help sponsor and support the celebration. The free activities include children's games, arts and crafts, live music, food, and various awareness stations.

When: September 11, 2010 from 8am to 1pm

Where: Gallivan Plaza - 239 South Main St. Salt Lake City, UT
Also to the south on Gallivan Ave. due to contruction.

Run for Recovery
: 8am to 9am - With your Support we can help promote awareness and demonstrate that recovery works.

Live Music: Throughout the whole celebration we will have a number of live bands.

Free Food: Hot dogs and drinks along with fresh fruit will be served all day. Limited supply available.

Kids Activities: Bouncy castle, face painting, spin-to-win, and other fun kids activities help make this a family friendly event.

Publicity: This year we have a very strong marketing campaign but nothing helps more than you telling family and friends about this event. Help make this years Recovery Day the best so far.
